Celebrate with us by reading and discussing the history of Juneteenth – from the primary documents to books celebrating the holiday! Learn how you can contribute your artwork to The Weems-Botts Museum!

All participants will receive a downloadable PDF, which includes:

• Q/A Regarding the history of Juneteenth and the Emancipation Proclamation
• Partial transcriptions of both the Emancipation Proclamation and Granger’s Proclamation with corresponding reading questions
• Instructions and templates for creating your own Juneteenth proclamation and flag (including meaning behind each symbol)
• Instructions & Guidelines for submitting your work to The Weems-Botts Museum for possible display

Children’s Day at the Museum Sponsored by Colonial Downs Group is a free program offered every 3rd Saturday throughout the year focusing on different themes each month.
