Historic Dumfries, Virginia (HDVI) is proud to welcome Abbigail Alm as our full time Site Manager. Our Board of Directors made the decision to bring aboard Abbigail, who holds a degree in Archeology. Her enthusiasm and dedication as a volunteer at the Weems Botts Museum and Historic Dumfries, Virginia has been an asset to the organization. We feel the transition to full-time on-site management will offer Abbigail an excellent opportunity to utilize her education to bring new ideas that will enhance Merchant Park and the Weems Botts Museum.

Our previous manager Lisa Timmerman contributed greatly to the advancement of HDVI and to the effort to make Dumfries a destination. We deeply appreciate her hard work and commitment as she steered us through the difficulties of Covid. She has moved on to an exciting new role at the Thomas Jefferson Foundation at Monticello, and we wish her the very best. Transition always presents challenges and with that comes change. We look forward to Abbigail’s management style and plans to enhance the operation.
