As we open for regular tours on the hour (Thursday – Monday, 11:00am-4:00pm) we eagerly offer a bevy of programs to welcome the summer! Note that our Scottish Teas and Colonial Camp programs require RSVP’s!
Kick off the open season with Prince William Historic Preservation and HDVI at our Dumfries Night on the Town! Stop by the Annex on Friday, 05/03, at 6:00pm to enjoy light refreshments and look at photographs of Dumfries in the early 1900s. Then, grab your walking shoes as we visit neighboring historic sites and discuss the founding of our Town. Free tickets available here.
Come to Merchant Park on Saturday, 05/11, and celebrate Charter Day with various organizations, town officials, and vendors! From free tours of the historic house to neat historical displays, crafts, and games, this family-friendly day in the Park is an excellent excuse to stay off the highway and enjoy your local community! Check out two raffles: one aimed for the “History Lover” while the other is perfect for the “Ghost Hunter”.
Missed our April Scottish Tea? No worries, we have available seats for our May (Sunday, 05/19) and June (Sunday, 06/09) teas! Drink delicious Scottish tea, listen to period appropriate music, and learn more about the Scottish heritage of Dumfries as you dine on traditional Scottish treats. Offered once in June and July, this week long camp features tours of the house and region, colonial activities and crafts, and plenty of opportunities to learn and have fun!
