Join us at Merchant Park this summer for Colonial Camp with Historic Dumfries Virginia, Inc. as we spend a week learning about life in colonial Virginia through hands-on activities. We are offering two sessions this summer: June 25-29 and July 9-13 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm each day.

Colonial Camp will feature a private tour of the Weems-Botts Museum and walking tours around historic Dumfries. Campers will discover cooking in colonial times and make their own butter, cornbread and even ice cream. Pretend you are a Revolutionary War spy and create your own secret code. Practice writing with a quill and inkwell. Explore history through mock archaeological digs and learn about local Native American tribes. Try your hand at some of our colonial games and much, much more.
